Welders that are qualified to a national welding code, often referred to as "Coded Welders", can be an asset to your company. They can provide assurance to both you and your customers that welding has been performed by personnel who have been tested and certified to meet recognized national quality standards.

Side Bend Test
A welding certification is technically a procedure or a welder qualification test. If you have the skill level and follow the directions then you should produced the same results as the procedure specifies. Side bends are when certifying a welder as well as a procedure. Two side bend tests are required to be tested for each position the welder is trying to be certified. Most shop welders will take a vertical tests due to the fact that they can usually put the joint in to the flat or horizontal positions.
