3 Point Beam Loading
Often when a client pours wall panels for a tilt up building it is necessary to test the concrete samples to know the flexural strength.

The engineer will specify the required strength of the concrete before lifting the panels in place. If the concrete does not have the required strength  the panels could break causing damage or injury
We use the Allan Face D-Meter to perform floor flatness testing of concrete slabs. 

Often times contract documents will require a floor flatness test. We have performed this service for many projects.

Along with reinforced concrete we provide shotcrete inspection.
During the application of shotcrete, we check for excessive rebound material, the angle and distance used for application by the nozzle man, adequate clearances, aggregate, non-contact lap splices, and sand lenses. We also test the slump, shotcrete temperature in the field and fabricate a test panel for curing, coring, and compressive strength tests in the lab.
Concrete panels are built flat on the ground (or, rather, on a concrete slab on the ground) then tilted vertically to form a wall. It's really that simple—but, of course, it ends up being much more complex as we add architectural features, windows and doors, insulation, and lifting hardware to panels that today can be very large.
We cast  concrete beams to break to let the contractor know when it is safe to tilt the walls. Without the proper strenght of the concrete, the panels could fail during placement.
When concrete is being used it is imperative that the mix is correct and it makes the required strength. An ACS certified technician can provide you with proper tests of the material you plan to use in your construction project. For bigger heavy highway construction projects often times bonding is required and a contractor is responsible for the project for two to five years after the completion. If this is the case – concrete testing is essential.
The picture above is of a 26 story apartment tower built in downtown Portland, OR. ACS provided all construction material testing and inspections for this project including water penetratin of the widow system. We inspected the widow system in Singapore and then monitored the installatin here in Oregon.
Post-tensioning is a method of producing prestressed concrete,
masonry and other structural elements. The term prestressing is used to
describe the process of introducing internal forces (or stress) into a
concrete or masonry element during the construction process in order to
counteract the external loads that will be applied when the structure is
put into use (known as service loads). These internal forces are applied
by tensioning high strength steel, which can be done either before or
after the concrete is actually placed. When the steel is tensioned before
concrete placement the process is called pre-tensioning. When the steel
is tensioned after concrete placement the process is called posttensioning.
